back.. full... stuffed... n most of all planning another big ESCAPE
but lets recap on our big Shanghai weekend first
WHAT a weekend!!!
our great tour guide - Ann name this tour Fantastic FALL
it certainly was FANTASTIC but no fall yet..
on the night we arrived it felt like cool summer than fall
but on the next day after a cloudy grey sky. immediately it felt like winter is has landed (just a touch of delay)
enough of weather talks...
one of the main reason why this weekend was so great because of the FOOD
glorious FOOD.... we ate so much, i actually did puke on sat night after few hours of wild party at Rough Bar on the Bund
don't worry i will come back on the "wild" party
but food first ... ON took us to this wonderful "crab sperm" place at one of those back end ally, it certainly one of the best crab dumplings I'd in my life. to be honest they're not cheap, it costs RMD $81 for two trades (around 12 dumplings) but its so good... it really melt in your mouth!!!
both lunch and dinner were fantastic too! that is why i ate till I puke.. it just so good... we had "old duck" soup and "stew fish head" man... just talking about it already make me dripping
if you don't trust me just check out my Shanghai album later this week. (fixed 70% of it)
ok then.. the "wild party"
it was wild... let says one of us got quite drunk, she almost missed her flight back to HK heehee
the bar itself was very nicely renovated. compared to HK i have to say I enjoy the bar in Shanghai better than here in HK. but the crowd is a lot OLDER (which def not what we're interested) and too many westerners
but i do like their idea where whenever there is a bar tender shows on the flipping liquor... they'll practically burnt the bar down.. (um.. a bit hard to explain but if you ever get to go there then you'll know what i mean) one of the best shows I've seen so far in a nice club
and of coz they've a very nice paddio looking over pudong bay. I'm sure it'd be really nice during Autumn to enjoy the cool breezesssss
oh one observation... there're more Europeans in SH than Americans or Aussis. if this means anything to any of you..
will cont
10.11.06
TONIGHT is the NIGHT
yes tonight all of us will be in SH
but let me remind you.. not just Shanghai but SH's volar hahahaha
yes, it won't be a proper w/e within hitting VOLAR once
couldn't believe it.. just few days ago we were organising this trip
and now its already here..
i have to say this out loud, its a record for us organising this trip
why... simple because it only took us like 2hrs to book tickets + hotel
yes compared to BKK (which took us like 4 mos) this def is a record.
it only took us like two phone calls, then we're all done
i remember when Gee told me Roro got her ticket from Asia miles, then gee confirmed then i called to get three more.. then lastly Jen.. man we are good
we are GOOD!
so Shanghai here we come..
SEX and SHANGHAI
I wonder by Sunday will I be 3mos pregnant or 6mos...
big feast weekend
PS another major delay for Spain photos

sneak preview of Seville
what a day for American people
big headline DEMOCRATS SEIZE control of house and gain more seat in the Senate as well. finally American are waking up!
hope things will get better from this point onward. if you want to know why this mid-term election is so important refer to bbc.com web site.
They've a very good coverage and explanation on this election
meanwhile, as you can see the title of this post - sneak preview of Seville
why sneak preview simple because I have yet to finish the whole album. its almost like 70% completed still has 30% more to go..
bear with me .. I'm almost there
I've been going out quite a fair bit things are just bit tight and frantic at the moment. both personal and work.
anyway going with the flow, since the theme of today is mid term, so enjoy this mid Seville album too
i couldn't wait for this weekend.. I'll be in Shanghai Partying hard .. my prison break
6.11.06
CUP DAY
Melbourne CUP.. yes.. CUP day
every year I'll go frantically study really hard on anything about the cup and read all possible articles out there to pick the WINNER horse.
but of course have I ever picked the winner..
what do you think .. knowing I'm still working my ass off
hell no!!
but then to be fair almost every year I won a little on the Melbourne CUP
so I'm not going to break the tradition but to place my bets on few horse
according to my down under colleagues the most insights they can provide me on this year favorite are
1) Tawqeet
2) Pop Rock (personal favorite, all because of the name.. I feel like some rock today)
3) Activation
4) Maybe Better
and most of all "Yeats" from Kiwi
so any insights?
on another note, I did do something rather interesting over the weekend. I went "chocolate-wares" shopping. What is Chocolate-wear?? well its what I called the tools that people used to make choco.
since one of my best friend is in town, and she is the BEST .. really the BEST dessert Chef I know and very sweet of her, offered to make choco for us. (actually its more we forced her to make desserts for us)
so we both venture out to Mong Kwok, if not because of this fantastic outing to MK. I would have never realised HK is place to shop for kitchen wears. so professional!
being of course I've to finish my weekend with a touch of style. we went to see the "The Artists and Their Models - Masterpieces from the Centre Pompidou, Paris" exhibition at HONG KONG MUSEUM of ART. In general it was a very good exhibition being here in HK. The collections was very well picked, however no matter how good the paintings are, because of the way they set up or the actual museum itself, it still lacks of the sense of "arti-ness" compared to those European Museums.
I was rather excited about the shows, especially when I was in Paris i took my good friend there twice and it was closed both days due to strikes (how typical!!) I hoping even thought didn't get to see the whole collections in Paris but at least get to see some in HK. not a bad trade especially it only costs HK$40 to see this exhibition (CHEAP right - i say its a bargain)
but.. .. because of the emptiness or lack of history of the museum, it makes the exhibitions rather dull ...
but its still a must do activity on the weekend.. if anyone ask me, I'd go again to look at few paintings..
final note, I'm almost done on my Seville photos.. 5% left..
hang in there
I'm hanging
oh one more note.. i'd one of the best night in volar on sat.. why because me and my other best gf had a long chat for quite awhile.. yes in volar. and it was a great chat! I couldn't wait to see what'll happen to this weekend. we're invading Shanghai!! SH here we come
31.10.06
one more day....
this may be the last typhoon going to "by-pass" this year.
why by pass, because we have yet to have a typhoon so far this year. i believe the highest that HK weather observatory has hoisted is T3
but i remember we did have one day the wind was so strong it felt like T8
quick review "The departed"
last night i went to watch the movie, I thought since it's HK public holiday, even though i was working but I still have to do something to remind myself that, yesterday was public holiday
so as usual i went to watch a movie
my first comment is, I should have watch the volar instead of the departed. The plot was ok and the acting was good too, esp they'd Matt and Jack.
However, there was just way too many foul languages I wonder was that necessary.but what turns me off was the editing. I thought the HK version was bad enough. you know there's time where when you finished watching a movie, you felt like you just got push and rushed to finish the movie. they scramb everything right ONTO your face within the last 5mins. that is exactly how i felt when i walked out the cinema..
i should have watch vola, a good friend of mine said its good
one more day
one more night
then my best gal will be here in HK
this visitor will rock the town..
she has already rock our little world already since the day she told me she is planning to come and stay here for a month.
really couldn't wait
only hope she can stay longer
